This woman can really sing. Knock you back into your chair powerful. Just as she starts to pull you forward again with her sweet and soft side, WHAM, back in your seat again. Coupled with her amazing piano playing, and a cello that added the perfect compliment to her music, Michal had everyone's attention this past Thursday at the Curtain Club.
Performing songs from her debut Cd sky with stars, as well as a couple that weren't on the CD, Dallas got a taste of what may very well be the next big female singer/songwriter to hit the music world. On stage she had the ability to draw the crowd in, simply because she sincerely seemed to be enjoying the moment. With each song the applause got a little louder, the smiles got a little bigger, and as Michal joked with the audience between songs, it seemed as if everyone was listening. This is quite impressive since she's only 19, it was her first time in Dallas, and her set started at the ungodly hour of 8:30!
What scares me is the notion that the next time she comes to Dallas, she'll probably have a full band behind her. That's not to say that her performance was lacking without one:, because it wasn't in any way, shape or form. She put on a great show that left people wondering why her set was so short. But to imagine a performace like tonight's with a full band backing her up has me wondering how quickly can she get back down here.
In all fairness, I'll come up with two negatives: Her piano wasn't loud enough, and her set should've been longer. I just can't find fault when a woman as talented as Michal plays her music to a roomful of people as if it was the only thing she'd choose to be doing. I just don't think anyone else there would spend too much time disagreeing. Good music, wonderful attitude, and sincerity...refreshing , to say the least.

For the record, this picture was a joke! The beer wasn't open, and Michal was merely showing us the "star" sewn on her jeans....
or not!
